Founded in 1996 by Madame Edith Lucie BONGO ONDIMBA, the New Horizons Foundation was the first establishment in Central Africa to welcome young people with disabilities. Equipped with appropriate technology, qualified staff and support for the children’s schooling, the New Horizons Foundation had to suspend all its activities during 2018.
Under the aegis of board members Mrs. Yacine BONGO and Mr. Junior BONGO, the New Horizons Foundation is getting a facelift on March 28, 2024, with an opening celebration featuring hand-picked guests such as the First Ladies of Gabon and Congo- Brazzaville, Zita Oligui Nguema and Antoinette Sassou Nguesso, as well as family, friends and acquaintances.
Two (2) months later, two of the Foundation’s establishments, TARII & WISI, began pre-registration activities, bringing hope and light at the end of the tunnel for many of the children’s parents. From May 15 to 31, 2024, the Foundation’s offices were swamped with applications, inquiries and requests for information.
