A little history...
A historic structure for over twenty-eight (28) years, Fondation Horizons Nouveaux was the first establishment to welcome young people with disabilities. This benchmark establishment in Gabon and the sub-region has been a real catalyst for social action. Initially, the Foundation’s mission was to bring together the resources and skills of the medical and specialized education sectors to help children with disabilities, orphans and those in distress.
In short, the institution has dedicated itself entirely to the welfare of children, with the primary objective of providing schooling for intellectually and visually impaired children.
The Foundation pursued a number of actions in favor of children, including: the School project and its 2 specialized centers; participation in the creation and equipping of medical-social centers; medical and local assistance to children in distress; the creation of reception and school supervision centers; and joint programs with European NGOs and international organizations.

More than 26 years of service to perfect youth...living with a disability
26 years ago, on November 21, 1996, the late Madame Edith Lucie Bongo Ondimba realized her dream of seeing disabled children better included in society through the creation of a highly qualified socio-educational structure meeting international standards: the FHN.
New horizons foundation: new challenges, same spirit
Faced with an evolving society, a changing legal framework and the complexity of supporting young people with disabilities in Gabon, it seems appropriate to adapt the Foundation’s project, taking into account our environment and responding as closely as possible to the needs of the young people we welcome.
